Ashland, Oregon Visitors Guide
Settled in 1852, Ashland is a beautiful town near the Siskiyou Mountains and the Rogue River Valley. It is home to Southern Oregon University and host to the Shakespeare Festival. You can spend your day enjoying the area attractions and then relax at the Ashland Springs Hotel which is listed on the National Register of Historic Places, or at area bed and breakfast inns like the Country Willows, Oak Hill, or the Romeo Inn.

Lithia Park -While here you can indulge
in nature trails, picnicking, tennis, and sand volleyball
in the 100 acre
woodland park. As you amble its flower lined paths you will
find forest shelters, a playground, rose gardens and Japanese
gardens.
Crater Lake National Park - This is Oregon’s only national park and is home to America’s deepest lake. You can explore its trails for the best view of Crater Lake or you can ride atop its waters in the guided boat tours (summertime only). During warm weather, you can drive the 32 mile rim road.
Emigrant Lake - Here you can go swimming, windsurfing, sailing, boating, waterskiing and fishing. For fun of a drier sort, there is a campground, picnic area and barbecue pits.
Jacksonville - This where early Oregonians first struck it rich (1851). By the 1920s, the gold had “panned-out” and the county seat was moved to Medford. The town was made a historic landmark in 1967. Today, you can see the courthouse, the library, and several other original structures.
Railroad Park - If you love trains, spend some time touring the railroad exhibits, or riding the mini train and assorted rides.
