Bend, Oregon Visitors Guide
On the Deschutes River is the beautiful town of Bend. It is known for its many
lakes and streams, majestic mountains, pine forest, ski
slopes and golf courses.
In Bend you will also find fine dining like the Meadows

Bend Parks & Recreation
LaPine - For exquisite scenery, swimming, fishing, and boating on the Deschutes River, grab your picnic basket and spend a day at LaPine.
Pilot Butte - You can get a wonderful
view of the Cascade Range when you visit the 101 acre park.
Tumalo - This is a great place for camping out while you enjoy swimming, fishing, and hiking. There are hot showers-so you can bring your tent or trailers for an extended stay.
Outdoor Adventures in Bend
Mount Bachelor Ski Area -Take in the sensational snow capped scenery as you ski the slopes and over 50 miles of cross country skiing trails.

Lava Butte & Lava River Cave -This extinct cinder cone has a paved road that runs to the top. At its peak you get a fantastic view of the Cascades. To the south is the 1.2 mile ramp and stairs to the Lava River Cave. On site is a visitor’s center where you can watch videos about the area’s history and geology.
National Sites of Bend
Newberry
National Volcanic Monument - This is actually an
active volcano where you will see numerous volcanic features
and deposits. Further up the road are East and Paulina Lakes
where you can enjoy boating, hiking, picnicking and camping.
Deschutes National Forest -The ruggedly beautiful land has such diverse scenery. You can see snow topped mountains, volcanic formations, ancient forest and raging rivers. There are a myriad of activities like skiing and snowmobiling in the winter, boating and fishing in the Deschutes River, and for hikers, there is 1,388 miles of trails—60 of which are on the Pacific Coast National Scenic Trail.
Educational Attractions of Bend
The Mount Observatory - Located at the University of Oregon; you can visit the observatory to see the stars, planet, and galaxies with their powerful telescopes.
High Desert Museum -An indoor/outdoor museum with live animals, cultural exhibits, hands-on fun, western art, American west dioramas and many other unique displays.
