At 11,245 feet above sea level, Mt. Hood has the longest snow sports season in North America, and is home to America's largest night ski area. If you're not into outdoor activities, don't stress. Mt Hood also has a wide selection of indoor attractions like the family fun center, the Mt. Hood Cultural Center and Museum, the Depot Museum in Canby, Arts cabins in Government Camp, or the Lakewood Theater.
Mt Hood is made up of 14 areas and each has their own unique activities and attractions. From sports to art museums to resorts and fine dining. Mt. Hood has something for everyone.
Outdoor Recreation at Mt. Hood
Mount Hood Meadows For cross country, downhill and night time skiing this is the place to stay. You will find a variety of chairlifts, a ski school, rental shops, day care, a restaurant, bar, cafeteria and concessions. Two day lodges are also available. The longest run is three miles.
Timberline Lodge Quads, Triples and double chairlifts transport you to a variety of runs. There is a vertical drop of 3,580 feet with the largest run being 2 miles long.
Lost Lake For swimming, fishing, boat rentals, hiking, and other outdoor fun, pack a picnic or book your campsite here.
Panorama Point This is a fantastic way to see the Hood River valley and Mount Hood.
Mount Hood Scenic Railroad A historic railroad on which you can enjoy mystery dinners, brunch or comedy acts as you take the 44 mile round trip.
Mount Hood Adventure From mountain biking to white water rafting, rock climbing to snow shoeing, this place has so many activities you will need a month of Saturdays to do them all. You will find guides happy to answer your questions about area plants and animals, teach about Mt. Hood's forest land, or show you the best places for hiking, biking, climbing, and other wilderness adventures.
Pat's Acres Racing Complex Start your engines and race around the track. The paved course weaves among trees and up hills on this 42 acre racing complex. And if go karts aren't your thing, take a shot at Paintball Island or test your skills at the remote control racetrack.
Additional outdoor adventures can be found at Molalla River State Park, the Wildwood Recreation Site and Mount Hood Ski Bowl to name a few.
