Oregon Zoo
Since its beginning in 1887 the Oregon zoo has become home
to animals from around the world. You will find birds, mammals,
reptiles, amphibians and invertebrates—21 species of which
are endangered and 33 are threatened. The
zoo’s botanical gardens contain more than 1,000 species
of exotic plants like the pelican flower and the ground
orchid.
While at the zoo, you can see the animals while riding on the steam engine train or by walking its beautifully landscaped pathways. Along the way you will see a variety of monkeys, bears, elephants, cougars, hippos, rhinos, birds, Asian pigs, an insect zoo and numerous other interesting animals.
