The River Drifters use white water trails on the Deschutes River, the White Salmon River, the Clackamas River, the Klickitat River, the Wind River, the Sandy Gorge, North Santiam and the Owyhee River and range in class levels from III to V.

For some of Oregon’s best whitewater adventures, grab your gear and make plans to paddle down the 17 mile portion of the Upper Klamath River. As you ride the rapids you will see bald eagles, flocks of wild geese and deer. You will also be delighted by the excitement of the waves and rapids as you pass by wooded forest and meadows, riverside caves and historic buildings.

For a 4 day adventure on the Rogue River, this is the way to go. All trips begin at the Galice Resort near Merlin, Oregon and will cover 35-38 miles of the River. The challengingly picturesque ride will provide numerous delights. Along the way, you will visit Zane Grey’s renowned fish camp, be able to go body surfing, and paddle the exciting currents of Mule Creek Canyon and Blossom Bar Rapids. Evenings provide a
chance to fish, swim, explore or simply relax.

Other favorite kayaking and canoeing locations:
1. The 45 mile route along the Columbia River Heritage Canoe Trail which begins in Clatskanie and ends just east of Astoria
2. Sauvie Island has many rivers, lakes, islands sloughs
3. Bachelor Island- a 10 mile water trail
4. Mayer State Park- here you will find a many places to enjoy the water
5. Viento State Park-For convenience to paddling on the Columbia River, this is a ideal location to begin
